Boma is an independent China procurement and back-office partner for small-to-mid companies importing from China. Since 2008, we have operated with a permanent team on the ground in Shanghai, supporting companies across Europe, Latin America, and Africa.

Our role is simple: to act as your eyes, hands, and operational control layer in China.

Are you a sourcing agent or a trading company?

No. Boma operates as an independent China procurement and back-office partner.We do not act as a trading company, and we are not paid by suppliers. Our role is to represent our clients’ interests in China and manage procurement operations with transparency and accountability.

Do you work on commission?

Depending on the engagement, yes.
Boma works under transparent, pre-agreed commercial structures, which may include:

A commission scaled to order value for project-based sourcing, or
A fixed fee for full China back-office services, without order commissions

The structure is defined upfront based on scope and level of involvement.

How do you avoid conflicts of interest with suppliers?

We are never paid by suppliers.

All commercial terms are agreed directly with our clients, and our incentives are aligned with quality, continuity, and long-term supplier performance — not transaction volume.

Do you replace our internal procurement team?

No. We complement it.

Boma acts as the local execution and control layer in China, supporting your internal team with on-the-ground visibility, follow-up, and issue resolution.
